We’re hosting our FIRST EVER cover art contest! Win a $150 cash prize, as well as the chance to be the featured cover artist for volume 02 of SAPP, when you submit your work from July 1-August 15, 2024.
Theme: mixtape. Capture the nostalgia of a mixtape that showcases a moment in time, or transcend time altogether by combining your memories in a unique way. We are looking for edgy, modern, and boundary-pushing art.
Our guest judge, Janet Kvammen, is a local mixed-media artist and the president of the Royal City Literary Arts Society. Her most recent exhibit, “Cascadian Rhythm Series,” was featured at the Crescent Beach Pop-Up gallery in June 2024. You can find more of her work on her Instagram.
Send your $3 entry fee and your submission to editor@sappzine.ca, with the subject as “YOUR NAME – COVER ART CONTEST”. Submissions will be judged blind and the winner will be announced in September.
Guidelines:
- Please keep in mind that SAPP is printed as an A5-sized publication, 5.83 x 8.27 in
- All submissions must be original artwork that has not been previously published in print. Your work may have been previously featured in an exhibition.
- Include a 75 word max artist bio and artist photograph with your submission.
- Artists may enter the contest more than once. The $3 submission fee will apply for each individual entry.
- Art must be the property of the submitting artist, and may not have been created as part of a group or collaboration.
- This contest is open to Canadian residents only.
- Use of Artificial Intelligence in your submission will lead to disqualification.
