From reviewing submissions to connecting with community members to designing and distributing our zine, we have a team of incredible creatives running everything behind-the-scenes at SAPP. Our team embodies our mission to uplift and support our community in everything that they do.
Each member of our Board of Directors combines their unique skill set with their passion for the arts and contributes to a truly unique and talented group. Masters of manifesting our vision boards into reality, we couldn’t exist without these folks!

Emily Molinari
FOUNDER + CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Emily Molinari (she/her) is SAPP’s Founder and Creative Director. She is a queer/mentally ill poet and editor from New Westmintser, British Columbia. holds a Master of Arts from Simon Fraser University and is a graduate of The Writer’s Studio. Passionate about building community, Emily’s vision for SAPP is to grow a community that connects poets with artists and other creatives through meaningful events that partner with local businesses. Her work has appeared in various print and online publications, including SAD magazine, Reverie, emerge ‘24, Door is a Jar, Swim Press and others. She is also the founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Sapperton Press.Follow Emily on instagram @molinariwrites.

Lexa Perl
VICE PRESIDENT + EDITORIAL DIRECTOR
Lexa Perl (she/her) is a trans feminine educator, writer, and activist living on the stolen territories of the Halkomelem-speakin peoples. She is a poet who seeks to explore gender, sexuality, and her own second coming of age. Lexa is the Lead Editor for SAPP volume 04. -

Madeleine Chan
CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Madeleine Chan (they/them) is a queer, non-binary, mixed race, white-passing writer settled on the stolen lands of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking peoples. They love exploring the intricacies of identity, specifically the messy complexities of the in-between and “Other” in relation to their own hybrid belongings. They like that little guttural “oh” feeling when they read something that resonates with them and strive to bring that same emotion to others. Find them and their work on Instagram @madeleinelyc. -

Naomi St. Cyr
CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Naomi St. Cyr (she/her) is a writer and poet living on the traditional and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Katzie, Kwantlen, and Semiahmoo First Nations. She gravitates towards reading and writing works on feminism, growing pains, mental health, and social satire. Her poetry is featured in SAPP and Eavesdrop Magazine, and she is a student of Simon Fraser University’s The Writer’s Studio. -

Jessica Lee McMillan
EDITORIAL DIRECTOR
Jessica Lee McMillan (she/her) is a poet and teacher with an English MA and Creative Writing Certificate from Simon Fraser University’s The Writer’s Studio. Read her in CV2, The Malahat Review, ROOM, QWERTY, Canadian Literature, and more. She lives on the land of the Halkomelem-speaking Peoples with her little family and large dog.

Roshni Jacob
EDITORIAL DIRECTOR
Roshni/Rosh Jacob (she/her) is an ardent reader and passionate writer. She has loved escaping into books for as long as she can remember. While literary fiction, horror, and thrillers are her favourite genres, she’s always open to trying something new. A journalist and copy editor by profession, she is a third-culture kid who moved to Vancouver in 2022. Her perfect day involves exploring the city’s cafes, watching Hallmark Christmas movies, reading novels about unhinged women and turning her internal dialogue into stories. Chanelling her love for words, Roshni posts her reviews, bookish thoughts, personal rants and more on her Bookstagram page, @roshlite.

Isabella Mori
DIRECTOR OF HAIKU + COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Isabella Mori (she/her) is a The Writer’s Studio alumn, lives in Vancouver and is the founder of Muriel’s Journey Poetry Prize, as well as the author of three books of and about poetry, including A bagful of haiku — 87 imperfections. Isabella also writes fiction and nonfiction. Poetic and lyrical work has appeared in publications such as Kingfisher, Signs of Life, and The Group of Seven Reimagined. In 2021, Isabella was the writer-in-residence at the Historic Joy Kogawa House.

Kyna Crumley
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY NETWORKING
Kyna Crumley (she/her) is a poet living on the traditional and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples. She’s a huge fan of messy drafts and is learning to build a life rooted in community and care. When she’s not working, reading, or writing, you can find her lying in the grass or watching people cook.

Sophia Pan
PUBLICATIONS DESIGNER
Sophia Pan (she/her) is an interdisciplinary visual communications designer who has a passion for supporting other artists. Her journey with SAPP started with a chance encounter at the Volume 01 launch party, and she has been the genius behind SAPP’s layout and design since Volume 02.

Malika Arora
SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR
Malika Arora (she/her is a queer South Asian writer, activist, and photographer with a career in marketing in the non-profit sector. Born and raised in so-called “Vancouver” she’s been writing for over ten years, with much of her work focusing on her identity as a member of the South Asian diaspora. Malika designs posts, writes copy, and responds to DM’s across all of SAPP’s socials!

Isha Multani
MARKETING AND PROMOTIONS DESIGNER
Isha Multani (she/her) is a Graphic Designer based in Vancouver, BC, holding a BDes in Communication Design from Emily Carr University of Art and Design. With a passion in publication and book design, their creative practice explores how storytelling can be interpreted and visualized through interdisciplinary design approaches. On the side, she enjoys risograph printing, creating zines, and bookbinding.
